Phil has senior experience in risk management, investment and strategic planning. Phil oversees the finances and the annual accounts for the project. He also supports the project more generally in the strategy-setting and decision-making processes.
He’s a qualified Chartered Accountant (FCCA) with 40 years’ experience in both accountancy and education, and currently works at Newcastle University’s Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance.
Phil thinks supporting young women when they’re often at their most vulnerable, and the outcomes achieved by YWP are incredible to witness.
With two grandkids, he looks forward to memorable family times but when he’s not giving out cuddles, he’s fond of a coffee and cake at Barter Books, the best bookshop on the planet. Our very own superstar, Phil also plays in a couple of bands so there are quite a few gigs through the year.
