Joanne holds a First-Class BA (Hons) in Youth and Community Work and has dedicated her entire career to supporting and advocating for girls and young women.
Since becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2015, Joanne has led YWP’s strategic direction, development, and fundraising. She’s fiercely committed to creating safe, inclusive, and uplifting spaces where young women can grow and have their voices heard. Joanne also represents young women and young mothers, locally and nationally, speaking out on the issues that affect them, and championing equality and trauma-informed practice across the sector.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her grandchildren, or taking time out to sit in her garden and being at one with nature. On weekends, she’s affectionately coined the phrase ‘Jojo Sundays’ where she batch cooks, whilst listening to 50’s and 60’s music and drinking wine. There’s way more singing and dancing than cleaning up goes on.
