I’m a Trustee with Young Women’s Project and a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Law. My work focuses on supporting students to develop confidence in their academic and professional skills, with a particular interest in how education can open up opportunities.

I became involved with Young Women’s Project in 2019, initially looking for a way to contribute locally. What stood out to me straight away was the strength of the organisation’s values and the genuine care shown to the young women it supports. It’s an organisation that combines warmth with purpose and I’m proud to be part of it.

As a former solicitor and now an lecturer, I bring a legal and governance perspective to the Board, alongside experience of working closely with students from a wide range of backgrounds. This gives me a strong understanding of the challenges young people can face and the support that can make a meaningful difference.

I’m especially proud to have supported the charity through the challenges of the pandemic, when the need for support was greater than ever and delivery methods had to adapt quickly. Being part of those decisions and helping to ensure continuity for the young women the charity works with was incredibly important. I’m now equally excited to be involved in its continued development as it moves into its next phase, building on that resilience and looking ahead to future opportunities.

Outside of work, I live in the North East with my husband, our son, and Milo the whippet. I enjoy running and have an unapologetic love of 90s pop.
